1.     What are five events in this section of the book that led Quentin to discover the clues to where Margo is?  Make a cause --> diagram as shown below to SHOW how one event led to the next.  Use your own words to briefly explain the events.

EXAMPLE:  Mom finds a cigarette butt in her son’s coat pocket --> She thinks her son smokes.
                       
2.     How do you feel about Margo at this point in the novel?  Why?  Write Margo a brief letter, from YOU, maybe 5 or 6 sentences, telling her what you think or feel about her.

1)  Summarize one of the five chapters.  Include basic information (who, what, when, where, why, how) and explain what happened.  (10 points)

2)  Write a personal response to the chapter you summarized.  How do you feel about the characters and their actions?  (10 points)

3)  Why is Quentin reading Leaves of Grass, a long poem by Walt Whitman?  (5 points)

4)  Lacey Pemberton is going to the prom with Ben.  Describe Lacey.  What does she look like?  What kind of person is she?  (5 points)
